ATLANTA — Three shots were fired in the confrontation that killed Ahmaud Arbery, a 25-year-old black man who was chased by white men as he ran through their southeastern Georgia neighborhood. The authorities said Travis McMichael, who with his father and a neighbor pursued Arbery, pulled the trigger.Arbery’s death was captured on a graphic video and posted online more than two months after he was killed Feb. 23, provoking widespread outrage.
“Felony murder is a crime in Georgia where you’re committing a felony crime and that crime ends up in the death of another human being,” Vic Reynolds, the GBI director and a former district attorney, explained at a news conference Friday. Woods was put to death March 5 against the backdrop of considerable criticism, as his supporters argued that the handling of his case had been rife with flaws. What steps did William Bryan take to abort the felony? Did he even yell out,”STOP, don’t shoot! This is just a runner! He’s unarmed! Leave him alone!” Did he call police ar once and report McMichaels? Or did he leave scene so as to not be part of felony unraveling before him?

When a group of mobsters or gang ambush someone and one of their members kill a person, do we then ask why are those who were there charged with murder when only one or a few committed the crime?

Seriously? Anybody who has watched an episode of Law and Order knows that if someone dies during the commission of a felony anyone associated with crime is charged with the death of that person, even if it is the cop who did the shooting.
In a conspiracy (2 or more people), each is considered equally culpable in the crime. Who the triggerman was is deemed irrelevant for purposes of punishment. That's the law.
