Inundaciones repentinas provocadas por las fuertes lluvias obligan a las autoridades a cerrar todas las carreteras de acceso y salida del Parque Nacional del Valle de la Muerte, cerca de la frontera entre California y Nevada

Unos 60 vehículos quedaron enterrados por los escombros, y alrededor de 500 visitantes y 500 trabajadores del parque no pudieron salir, informaron las autoridades del parque. El Departamento de Transporte de California estimó que tardarían entre cuatro y seis horas en abrir una carretera que permitiera la salida de los visitantes del parque.Se trata de la segunda inundación de importancia en el parque esta semana.

Durante las tormentas del viernes, las “aguas de la inundación empujaron los contenedores de basura hacia los coches aparcados, lo que provocó que los autos chocaran entre sí. Además, muchas instalaciones están inundadas, incluidas las habitaciones de hotel y las oficinas comerciales”, dice el comunicado del parque.
