Novak Djokovic didn’t just miss out on the Golden Slam. He missed out on any medal at all at these Olympics after he lost in the singles and withdrew from mixed doubles.

TOKYO—Novak Djokovic came to the Tokyo Olympics chasing a Golden Slam. He left instead with three straight defeats, profound fatigue, and precisely zero medals.

A weekend in which he expected to add Olympic gold to the three major tournaments he’s already won in this history-making season instead turned into one of the most frustrating of his career. In the space of roughly 24 hours, he lost semifinals in the the men’s singles and mixed doubles before blowing his shot to take bronze in either event.

The full extent of Djokovic’s meltdown became clear on Saturday when he first lost the third-place singles match to the world No. 11, Pablo Carreño Busta of Spain. As the match slipped away, he winged a racket into the empty stands. Then he smashed another one on the net post, right under the nose of the umpire. Djokovic only received a warning.

Then he simply withdrew before taking the court in mixed doubles, leaving his Serbian partner Nina Stojanovic in the lurch. That meant that the strong Australian pair of women’s world No. 1 Ashleigh Barty and doubles specialist John Peers earned the bronze medal without even playing.

Wow, so many frustrated Fedal fans and mental health experts in one place. novakisthegoat dealwithit

I guess Nole got the 'twisties' today

That doesn’t take away from his previous accomplishments

Noooo

Some body needs some mental health care

What was he saying about mental weakness…

Wasn’t he just lecturing Simone Biles about how great pressure is, lol?

I am sure ClayTravis and piersmorgan will spend as much time chastising Novak for being a quitter and not a true champion as they did with Simone, right? 🙄

😠👎Novak...

Finally there are still legit traders online in time like this 2weeks ago I decided to follow my friend and try stocks and binary trade with Georgeleonel363 and it turns out as a surprise to me after I invested $1000 and got back $3550 Georgeleonel363 is a legit trader trust me

wow

rogerfederer would never do this…just saying

Mental illness is real.

Training all the time growing up instead of playing with friends . . .

TurnerNovak get your brother under control

yeah he can jog on...

Strategic 'toliet break' could have helped

He’s obnoxious.

He was all bravado when he was making fun of Biles and Osaka...

There’s always been that side to his character but such is his mental toughness that he’s most often managed to control his temper. Apparently not at these games, though
