Indiana students sue over COVID-19 vaccine requirement

The lawsuit alleges that the university violates students' rights as well as Indiana's vaccine passport law. The recently passed law prohibits state and local governments from creating or requiring vaccine passports. In the lawsuit, the students claim that they are being coerced into vaccination and that if they do not comply, they face"the threat of virtual expulsion from school.

Earlier this month, school administrators announced that students would have to verify their vaccination status with the school unless they applied for a medical or religious exemption. Those without exemptions can have their class schedules canceled, their student IDs deactivated and won't be allowed to participate in on-campus activities, according to the lawsuit.

Other vaccines have been required in the past. What’s different this time? We need to come together as a Nation to eradicate this deadly virus. 600,000+ dead Americans isn’t enough?!! Disgraceful lawsuit.

This is ridiculous. There are all sorts of medical requirements/vaccinations required before moving into a dorm, attending University . . . this is just common sense.

If you don’t want to get vaccinated you have two options, choose another institution that does not have the requirement or attend school virtually. Over 3 million people have received the vaccination and we don’t have 3 million people dead. The vaccination is safe!

I was required to get vaccines prior to attending Indiana University in 2003. Nobody whined about it then. I’m glad my alma mater is doing the responsible thing, despite the rest of the state being ass-backwards.

Oh get over it. You needed vaccinations when you started school as a youngster so what is the big deal now. Think about those around you. Guess you don’t care if someone lives or dies.

May they win Vaccine have had adverse effects on some folks who have medical issues... It is not a good fit for all...and the ones who have issue should not be ill regarded
