“We are already ruined. What more harm can coronavirus do?'

A young boy sits in a queue for cooking gas in Harare, Zimbabwe, Sunday, March, 29, 2020. Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa announced a nationwide lockdown for 21 days, starting March 30, in an effort to stop the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. The COVID-19 coronavirus causes less serious symptoms for most people, but for some, especially older adults and people with existing health problems, it can cause severe illness and even death.

“It’s better to get coronavirus while looking for money than to sit at home and die from hunger,” Kampira said, to loud approval from other vendors. “If the taps were working we wouldn’t be here, swarming the well like bees on a beehive or flies on sewage. We are busy exchanging coronavirus here coughing and spitting saliva at each other,” said 18-year old Annastancia Jack while waiting her turn.

Once-prosperous Zimbabwe was full of renewed promise with the forced resignation in late 2017 of longtime leader Robert Mugabe. But President Emmerson Mnangagwa has struggled to fulfil promises of prosperity since taking power. He blames the country's crisis in part on sanctions imposed on certain individuals, including himself, by the U.S. over rights abuses.

Alot,many aspects of life!

So so Sad

That s what is on my mind ... you can not expect for poor countries to behave like the rich ones ... the battle is between a cold that could kill or hunger that definitely kill ....

This is terrible. Die a slow painful death or die a short painful death. Goddamn this hit me hard.

So sorry!

This is horribly sad. But at least they've rid the country of white supremacy. Starvation and plague is one thing. White people owning farms is another.

I worry about Africa. They already have so much happening to them. 🙏

Oh don't ask for trouble! 😣

Lock down is needed I get that, but why not provide food to poor ppl. He only implemented lock down so he can killed minority silently. Contrast his leadership with the muddled thinking in the US/UK. Irrespective of whether you agree with him or not, atleast he’s taking a decision & executing. US & UK are killing their citizens due to their indecision. IndiaFightsCOVID19 Hey What's up
