Death toll rises to 170 in Germany and Belgium floodsThe death toll in devastating flooding in western Germany and Belgium rose to at least 170 on Saturday after burst rivers and flash floods this week collapsed houses and ripped up roads and power lines. So awful. 😭😭😭😭 I hope that disaster is not due to Germany refusal to make more public debt. I mean maybe some defences were missing.

Germany mourns after devastating floods which could be a political game-changerThe clear up has barely begun after extensive flooding in Germany and beyond but already the costs — both human and economic — are staggering. The politics are what’s most important here. Game changers - Germany will stop making cars soon, no more coal stations, stop all chemicals, abandon Russian pipeline, ban all pork hocks, no more beers, etc. Now that's getting silly.
