On shopping holidays like Cyber Monday—when they're discounted like crazy—this debate is only heightened. The deal is tempting:
! Friends and family have listened to me ponder aloud enough. I've asked too many people with robot vacuums in their homes to discuss the pros and cons. One of the central reasons I want a robot vacuum is because I tend to drop an absurd about of stuff while I cook. Right now I sweep up after myself with a, but the dream is to replace the manual work with a computer: the Roomba.
I recently got rid of my full-sized vacuum because I have so little storage space and I was tired of shoving it in the closet. The Roomba is so thin and flat that I can store it under the couch and keep it plugged into the outlet on the wall. Totally discrete and not taking up valuable storage space.
I also just got a cat. And, while she mostly hides under my bed and doesn't care to associate with me, maybe someday she'll like riding on the Roomba because that seems totally logical. The gist of the argument is this: Life is short and I've been ruminating too much. I want this robot vacuum to clean up my kitchen messes for me, and at a 40% discount, it's hard to say no.All products featured on Epicurious are independently selected by our editors.
