Groups warn of civilian toll, violations in Yemen's HodeidaCAIRO (AP) — Aid groups warned of the plight of civilians in Yemen's contested Hodeida where casualties are mounting as a Saudi-led coalition is fighting to take the port city from the country's Shiite rebels. Separate from the warning, a collection of aid groups, including CARE and 34 others, issued a statement on Thursday, calling for an immediate cease-fire in Yemen. Amnesty International warned late Wednesday that rebels have taken up positions on a Hodeida hospital rooftop, raising concerns they are using the hospital's patients as human shields to ward off coalition airstrikes. Doctors Without Borders, meanwhile, said it was treating two dozen wounded from the latest offensive. Iran is a big threat to the middle east and the rest of the world, Huthy rebels are destroying Yemen by getting support from thier allies Iran.. Odd the rebels can use a hospital roof when Saudi would be heavily criticised How brave of them to use the sick as human shields.

Fighting eases in Yemen but no official cease-fire in placeSANAA, Yemen (AP) — Yemeni officials say fighting has eased in the war-ravaged country, especially in the key port city of Hodeida after an informal agreement to reduce hostilities there. The deal was declared on Monday, although smaller clashes have continued elsewhere. Soldiers and eyewitnesses say fighting on the ground between Saudi-led coalition forces and Shiite rebels largely halted in Hodeida on Thursday, but continued in Bayda, Saada and Hajja provinces. A U.N. official says there's no official, hoped-for cease-fire but that there's been 'a significant reduction in hostilities.' The government announced a 'pause' in the fighting for the day. If anything good came as a result of Khashoggi's killing, it may be the halt in killing civilians in Yemen by Saudi Barbaria. Now bring humanitarian aid to Yemen UN Shiite !!? Iran backed up militants ..

Fighting in Yemeni city dies down as cease-fire takes holdSANAA, Yemen (AP) — Yemen's key port city of Hodeida was calm Tuesday morning, hours after a U.N.-mediated cease-fire went into effect between government-allied forces and the country's rebels, Yemeni officials said. Fighting subsided as the cease-fire took effect, with only the sporadic sound of automatic weapons fire heard in the city, where the port handles about 70 percent of Yemen's imports. Yemen's four-year conflict pits the internationally recognized government, backed by a Saudi-led coalition, against Shiite rebels known as Houthis. Houthis must commit themselves to this ceasefire agreement. It’s in their interests primarily to honor what had agreed upon in Stockholm. Yemen

The team, led by Dutch Maj. Gen. Patrick Cammaert, arrived in Hodeida over the weekend to monitor a cease-fire that went into force in the Red Sea port city. The officials say the meeting Wednesday involved discussions about the mechanism of the team's work and the number of monitors that will be required in the near future. The Iranians are the instigators. What will the UN do about it?
