Houston police respond to a fatal shooting at the parking lot of a west Houston hotel on May 27, 2022A man died after being shot multiple times outside of a west Houston hotel, according to police.
Houston police officers responded just after 10 p.m. at the Red Roof Inn on the 2900 block of West Sam Houston Parkway near Westheimer and found a man in the parking lot with multiple gunshot wounds to his torso, HPD Lt. Ronnie Willkens said. He died at the scene. Video surveillance showed a man get into an altercation with the victim before pulling out a handgun from a bag, shooting him multiple times and fleeing on foot, Willkens added.As Uvalde students waited for rescue, police assumed there was no reason to rush in
Homicide investigators were processing the scene and attempting to locate the suspected shooter, HPD added.No other information is available at this time.
