There are many ways to fold a dumpling, and while some are incredibly intricate and can take years of practice to master, simple techniques can also produce attractive homemade dumplings Crimping or pleating dumplings takes practice and perseverance. Folding is personal, and you have to find the rhythm which feels right to you. Sometimes it might be more comfortable to pleat with your non-dominant hand, or perhaps you want to pleat the side of the dumpling furthest away from you . You can also use square wrappers here: Place the filling in the middle of the wrapper. Moisten the edge of the wrapper with a dab of water and carefully fold one corner over the filling to the opposite corner to form a triangle—make sure you enclose the filling tightly to avoid any air pockets. Bring the two base corners together, dab one with water, then overlap them and press to seal.
