Sue Thaden , CEO of Client Resources, Inc. (CRi) and From Now On , upped the anty to engage sports fans on the collegiate level during a time of social distancing through the FanX platform.

At that point, it became more about EBITA and earnings and less about employee and client experiences. So in 1999, Thaden bought a Business Plan for Dummies book and assembled a couple of people to join her as she built out her own IT consulting company, CRi. She quickly grew her team to over 100 employees.

Such Unluckly Moment Has Never Been Seen! The Scariest Sports Accidents

Close to eight years ago, Thaden built an innovation lab within the company. As a result, team members have an opportunity to pitch an emerging technology idea that enhances their clients or the community, and then they have time throughout the month to work on it.

Her team built a mobile platform with wayfinding, lists, geofence technology, and other components seven years ago. The University of Nebraska at Omaha was reclassifying from Division II to Division I sports during this time. Their hockey team was already a Division I championship program, and the University was building a multi-million facility.   headtopics.com

“We said, ‘We have a great idea to trick out your fan engagement. Your brand will be awesome. Your sponsors will get tons of love through the mobile channel. You guys want to do this?’ Nothing goes that easily. And we really weren’t sure what problem we were solving, to be truthful. After about 40 meetings back and forth and doing some product and market research, we said, ‘Well, we’ve got something here.’ The University wanted to be our first customer.”

Thaden created a separate company, From Now On, to house the FanX platform. It was important for her to separate it from the core business to devote key resources to the product. Since the launch, FanX has had over 70 million fan sessions, 1.2 million app downloads, and works with universities such as Brown, Florida State and Xavier. Additionally, it has partnered with college championship series such as the NCAA 2021 Men’s and Women’s Final Four, 2020 Volleyball Championship and the Military Bowl.

You’ll know when you’re on the right track or when you’re off-centered. Listen to what your intuition is telling you. It’s trying to steer you in a positive direction.

“I’ve had to learn to speak last in certain meetings and follow the thread of someone else’s thought process, even if I don’t see it at first,” Thaden concludes. “They might be contributing something that no one else has thought of. Early on in leadership, you make fast decisions, especially at a small company. You’ve got to do a lot of things, so you just do them. Then as you grow, you have to be wise enough to hand off something to someone who may do it better than you.”
