Even if the justices don't touch Roe, they're positioned to greenlight new restrictions on the procedure

Republicans’ vows to quickly fill the vacancy left by Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s death will dramatically accelerate the push to restrict abortion access, no matter what happens toThere’s no guarantee that even an expanded conservative majority at the Supreme Court would target the landmark decision that legalized abortion nationwide nearly 50 years ago, given some justices’ anxiety about overturning precedent.

Another issue both sides are closely watching is the push by some states to ban Medicaid patients from going to Planned Parenthood for non-abortion care. The Supreme Court will consider a petition on that out of South Carolina at the justices’ next conference in a few weeks. requiring abortion providers to have admitting privileges at local hospitals. But legal experts say Roberts’ opinion in the case, for courts to allow more state restrictions on abortion going forward.

Roe v Wade is dead! GoodRiddance

Outstanding.

It's important to remember that abortion has always been safe and legal: if you have enough money. Roe v. Wade is not about abortion, per se, it's about abortion for poor people. We need to keep this in mind and fight hard against one more inequity in American life.

And there is nothing you are going to do about it.

It keeps getting better and better.

Good. All lives matter.

The majority of Americans are pro-choice by a comfortable margin. The undemocratic makeup of the Senate (10 Rep. Senators representing 4 million Americans) assures the continuing war on women's reproductive rights.
