President Donald Trump’s newest Supreme Court pick will offer conservatives an opportunity to start achieving a long-sought goal: chipping away at the vast administrative state that Americans have known since the New Deal.

“Without question a 6-3 Court captured by right-wing and corporate interests could shut down much of the progressive agenda, if it could act with impunity,” said former Sen. Russ Feingold , president of the progressive legal nonprofit the American Constitution Society. “Clean water, clean air, food and drug safety, regulation of the health care and health insurance industries, consumer protections and workers’ rights are all on the chopping block in that scenario.

Not just could, will. No doubt about it.

The Constitution must be amended, important Democracy laws strengthened, POTUS candidate requirements toughened and Congressional term limits imposed so that this nation will never again have to suffer the consequences of another POTUS like Donald J. Trump.

SCOTUS will be illegitimate and its decisions will be dismissed as conservative, partisan drivel

No worries on that score. There will not be a Biden presidency.

Assuming we all agree judges are impartial, if an administration follows the Constitution; what's the concern?

Already looking for excuses? Wonderful

When will Politico become a news organization instead of fake news throwing out misrepresentations. You obviously have no journalistic integrity.

Lmo66Olson It's going to be a 6-3 extremist right-wing court. Justice Breyer is 82. Do you want to go for a 7-2 SCOTUS? Then FlipTheSenateBlue & vote BidenHarris2020.

I guess it’ll be up to Biden/Congress to add more justices to SC if Biden wins. I’ve always thought 9 justices making decisions that effect 330 million ppl isn’t quite right. More diversity is needed on the court. And more justices. And forget the lifetime term...that has to end.
