With the novel coronavirus halting his TokyoVice pilot, producer Alan Poul is back from Japan and reflecting on his 'excruciating' decision and what comes next — while still in self-isolation

I’m holding up fine. I’m halfway through my quarantine, having only returned from Tokyo a week ago. I felt like I was being dropped into this insanity, coming from Tokyo, where, believe it or not, things are relatively normal. It was one of the first countries hit, but it appeared to be very contained. So, I was hearing from my husband, Ari, about the madness going on here, but just hearing about it doesn’t really prepare you.

It’s a really interesting time in that a lot of people are out of work or are on hold for work and nobody knows exactly what the landscape is going to look like if this goes on for another month, which it’s likely to do. Another strange benefit for some is that they have time on their hands now.

People living in vans and RVs are getting squeezed during pandemicLiving full time in a van or RV has become increasingly popular, but that life is now getting tougher as parks close and free campsites shut down during the coronavirus pandemic Oh crap...I’m screwed now! Parks wouldn't have had to close down if people weren't idiots and flock to the parks because they can't stand to stay at home during this pandemic. Yeah, wish I had a van. Try living full time in a Corolla! But at least I have it. Living on the sidewalk is by far the worst of all. I did that too.
