Onstage, her bold throwback style comes through, and her music can feel timeless. Yet she also has been forged by more modern experiences. She began uploading songs to Soundcloud in 2014, and eventually found herself contributing vocals to EDM tracks bywhich was released in January, she proves her skill for making music born of a love for the past that isn’t content to simply revere it.
She might not be able to celebrate in a room with all of her collaborators on April 25, but it’s still the beginning of a new era in which she might not want to be so hidden anymore.
