JUST IN: The House passed a funding bill to keep the government running through Dec. 11 after it was delayed over a dispute on farm aid. The bill still needs Senate's approval and Trump's signature.

A stopgap funding bill to keep the government running through Dec. 11 passed the House 359-57 late Tuesday evening, with one lawmaker voting present. The bill was temporarily delayed over a heated dispute regarding farm aid.

The legislation still must be approved by the Senate and signed by President Trump, or the government faces another shutdown threat in eight days.lacked federal farm assistance sought by the Trump administration despite support for it from both sides of the aisle. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., said the Senate would not pass a bill that didn't include funds for the Commodity Credit Corporation, which provides aid to farmers. Democrats argued that the fund was being used as a political"slush fund" by the Trump administration.

But Tuesday night ahead of the vote, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., announced a deal with Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and Republicans. "We have reached an agreement with Republicans on the CR to add nearly $8 billion in desperately needed nutrition assistance for hungry schoolchildren and families. We also increase accountability in the Commodity Credit Corporation, preventing funds for farmers from being misused for a Big Oil bailout," her statement said.

How long will this sit on senatemajldr desk?

Imagine how tired and broke we are, inundated with student loan debt!

Its truly incredible scrolling thru each relpy and then seeing replys to those.. and so on until its just I'm right and your wrong hate filled garbage with no one factually proving a goddamn thing.

glad they got funding for them to work a total of two weeks.... /sarcasm

Nancy Pelosi just gave away leverage to hold up SCOTUS vote.

On one hand, I'm not okay with letting farmers suffer because of Trump's ineptitude. On the other, I'm not okay with giving Trump a tax-payer funded political bailout. It's an easy decision, help the farmers. People first. Politics last.

Where is the stimulus

Yea! Compromise! More of this please! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Just how incompetent are they? I'm sure if they just keep playing by the rules the republicans will suddenly be shamed into not being utterly without morals. Any day now

A trade war with China that led to tariffs that hurt farmers, the unexpected economical impact on farms from the coronavirus, and now a dispute over farm aid?

Wouldn’t a $1200 stimulus check be enough to hold them over for the next 6 months or so?

Oh gee way to just fucking roll over. The Democratic leadership is going to pay a steep price in 2022 regardless of how November turns out. Fight now or go down to more liberal fighters. I recommend AOC run against SenSchumer

House continuing to pass legislation like the HEROES Act while MoscowMitch cares more about radicalizing the courts

Why is this hag in control of the House?

what if....SpeakerPelosi passed this bill to bait senatemajldr to put it on the floor for a vote and dem Senators launch an old fashioned filibuster staying on the floor 24 hours/day through the election so the Repubs cant bring the SCOTUS nomination to the floor for a vote?

Sure just keep doing what they want and being nice while they repeatedly insult you and slap you around. 'Maybe if we're nice to them they'll listen to us?'

Well duh, Trump in a Rally?

What's the cut?

Grassley needs his welfare check! Those farmers need their bribe!

how bout that stimulus?
