Ever since COVID-19 hit the U.S. last year, many parents have agonized over how best to protect their teenage children from the effects of the pandemic. While the threat of physical illness is enough for any family to contend with, it’s not the only risk: 46% of a 1,000-person sample of parents of teens said that their child’s mental health had beensince the start of the pandemic.
Clinical trial results of the COVID-19 vaccine for 12-to-15-year-olds have been encouraging, with Bill Gruber, a senior vice president at Pfizer and a pediatrician, telling, “We have safety, we got the immune response we wanted—it was actually better than what we saw in the 16-to-25-year-old population—and we had outright demonstration of efficacy.
