HONG KONG - Hundreds of demonstrators rallied for a second day in Hong Kong on Sunday to protest against plans to turn some buildings into coronavirus quarantine centers, reviving anti-government protests in the Chinese-ruled city.

About 100 people braved rain in the New Territories district of Fo Tan, where authorities plan to use a newly built residential development that was subsidized by the government as a quarantine center. Riot police stood by. Father-of-two Koby, 36, also expressed frustration at not being told for how long the public housing might be used for quarantine.

That would kill them off far more than this virus. They should be afraid of Ebola or H1N1v

We post daily infographics summarising Coronavirus situation, and all the most Important stats- check our recent post. 🦠

The real story was getting protesters off the streets but the corona virus story is wearing thin now.

How many times are you guys posting and reposting the same shit?

Let it spread.

Hmm, I'm going to have to say the Hong Kongers are wrong on this one.

The ultimate apex predator who feasts on the flesh and blood of children.

Showing their underlying motives have never been reform just disruption and anerchy !

They don't know yet that Coronavius is real. Any way the choice is theirs.

The video speaks for itself.

HK gov never want discuss to HongKongers for planning virus quarantine centre, most of locations are very nearly to living place, it is absolute not suitable, I afraid there will have more and more infections when the centre open

Full border closure to ensure the transmission of the virus infection from China to Hong Kong can be minimized. WuhanCoronovirus WuhanVirus China_is_terrorist AntiCCP

It's unacceptable. Hong Kong gov promised people that public housing estate will not be used as quarantine centres. They told people two weeks ago they are going to get their house in one month! BUT, suddenly people lost their home and it became quarantine centres...

bloodycarrie WuhanCoronavirus

Quarantine centre in DENSELY POPULATED residential area is STUPID Apart from delaying move-in of the newly-allocated residents, risk of transmission to nearby estates & within building(similar to 2003 SARS) shouldn’t be neglected Many unoccupied holiday camps can be use for it

Should have virus quarantine centers, however, is it suitable to choose location which are so near to citizens? There are lots of choices, why always propose something which will definitely make people get mad?

HongKongProtest is still lasting and PoliceBrutality is still happening. The evil regime still make use of HongKongPolice as the tool to oppress the HongKongProtesters even they are just asking no quarantine camps or clinics nearby their home. No freedom or right to say no

HKGov really did a GREAT JOB letting the deadly virus in and building quarantine centres right next to residential buildings. BRILLIANT.

Quarantine centre is useless as long as the border isn’t closed. WuhanCoronavirus is a big threat to Hong Kong people as the open border, insufficient masks supply to the citizens, insufficient protective measures and resources to the medics and so on. HKGov is doing nothing.

Hong Kong government never ask for the opinions of normal citizens before planning virus quarantine centres, yet they did ask for Hong Kong Disneyland when they planned one next to it.

- Close the borders with China - Consult district councilors on quarantine sites selection When does the Hong Kong regime learns listening to Hong Kongers? It just keeps adding fuel to the fire.

HKProtests liberatehongkong 5DemandsNot1Less WuhanCoronavirus

People are asking whether hk protests have ended... No, definitely no. How Carrie Lam Regime deals with coronavirus reassured us the importance of overthrowing this tyranny which ignores the voices of the citizens and do whatever they can to put our lives at risk!

Thank you Hong Kong people. It is not just another “Not in my backyard” movement. Setting Wuhan Coronavirus clinics near people’s homes without a complete border control with the heavily infected mainland China is the biggest joke of disease prevention.

The government should've closed the border and stopped the potential patients from coming in But it's decided not to do it and instead took the flats that people are preparing to move in for making them into quarantine sites The government's gotten so numb against public opinion

Not fully close the border but put quarantine centres at every district. How genius!

i doubt corona was for H. K.

Puppet Hong Kong government ignores human lives and public health without closing borders completely, can’t provide face masks to civilians and even set quarantine centers in densely populated areas.

HongKong is a shame

Being Hongkongers with this arrogant and insane government is exhausted However, the fight for coronavirus and 5DemandsNot1Less can never end

Gov never consider the safety of HKers as the first priority. There are better options for quarantine centers that are far from residential areas but the Gov refuse to listen.

Virus quarantine centers should be build at hongkong police hall or who support police, because they are suppress citizens who reject quarantine center near them.

The 'cost' of going on streets is under the threat of novel coronavirus. Yet on a single day, there're already several protests. Why? Because the inept puppet government has shown Hong Kong people the it cares about appeasing CCP much more than HKers.

When there is some many places that are far from the residence, the Hong Kong government planned to set the quarantine centre in the residential area. What is the point except creating more panic in the neighbourhood?

“Hong Kong is China now.” This fact float on my mind when I open my eyes every morning

buz our govt have not discussed this issue to the resident who lives in there. ppl are afraid of the outbreak of COVID2019 in their community. No discuss, No respect, only suppress the voice of opposing. that 's what HKSAR has done in handling the spread of COVID2019 in HK.

They could've closed the border, but they didn't. They could've chosen resorts instead of public housing estates as quarantine centres, but they didn't. They could've prevented a man-made catastrophe, but they didn't. UNIVERSALSUFFRAGE

This was a planned out event BTW.

Yes but so is this virus

The HK gov't cares the Hong Kong people no more. Not trying to offend the CCP, they even refuse to close borders and let possible coronavirus hosts swarm our city. Disgraceful and disgusting. And now they even place quarantine centers right next to residence. Horrible.

Commies are ruthless
