A hidden Resident Evil trailer for the Netflix show reveals the cause of the new zombie outbreak as well as new and returning monsters. The series adaptation of Capcom's survival horror franchise hails from Andrew Dabb, best known for his work on The CW's Supernatural as a co-showrunner for its final four seasons and having written on it going back to season 5.
Resident Evil will chronicle two timelines, the earliest being in 2022 as half-twins Jade and Billie move to New Raccoon City with their father, Albert Wesker. Shortly after their arrival, they learn of his dark past and the dangerous experiments being conducted by the Umbrella Corporation, which will eventually lead to the truth of their origins and the downfall of the world.
It is interesting to note that showrunner Andrew Dabb has confirmed that the Resident Evil show exists within the video game canon, subsequently raising questions as to Wesker being alive and his reasoning behind bringing back the T-virus.
