James said in Tuesday’scourt filingher office “has not yet reached a final decision” about whether to bring a lawsuit against Trump or his company, though Perry noted the investigation “appears to be in its final stages” and the testimony the AG’s seeking now suggests the evidence-gathering is nearing an end.

Better the Biden by a long shot. How are you supposed to 'make nice' with people who have a declared agenda to obstruct everything you do? This is not Bidens fault. He tried his best. This is ridiculous to blame the President for the Republicans failure to do anything to help this country. His administration has made great improvements this year in jobs and the environment and has done a tremendous job in cleaning up the mess left by Trump .

a second grand jury in November 2021, that will meet for six months and could bring new indictments. James said in Tuesday’s court filing her office “has not yet reached a final decision” about whether to bring a lawsuit against Trump or his company, though Perry noted the investigation “appears to be in its final stages” and the testimony the AG’s seeking now suggests the evidence-gathering is nearing an end. What To Watch For James wants a judge to compel documents from Trump and for Donald Trump, Jr., and Ivanka Trump to testify. The Trumps are expected to fight the request, which could drag out the proceedings further and potentially play out in court. If the court ultimately doesn’t make them testify, Bederow said it could potentially threaten James’ case, if she doesn’t have enough other evidence. James’ office is undertaking both a civil and criminal probe—the civil one requires a lower burden of proof—and her or the Manhattan DA’s criminal investigations could result in charges against Trump, his associates or the company, while a civil investigation can only result in a lawsuit. That litigation could pose an “existential threat to the Trump Organization,” Perry noted, with potential consequences ranging from monetary damages to the court taking away the company’s business certificate. The AG and Manhattan DA are coordinating with each other on their investigations, which Perry noted means they could try to bring actions at the same time, but that isn’t guaranteed. Perry predicted James will ultimately bring a lawsuit against the Trump Organization, since it would be difficult to back off and not take action after her “show of strength” in claiming her office had evidence of wrongdoing, though it remains to be seen how much trouble Trump could ultimately find himself in as a result of the probes.  Key Background The Manhattan DA’s investigation started in July 2019 in response to ex-Trump attorney Michael Cohen’s “hush money” payments made to women Trump allegedly had affairs with before expanding more broadly to the company’s financials.
