Here’s Everything You Need To Know About The iOS 15 Public Beta

There’s a new Shared with You category in Music, Photos, Apple TV, Podcasts, and Safari where you’ll see things that have been shared with you in Messages. Thankfully, iOS 15 will use machine learning to only bring personally relevant images to photos so that your photo library doesn’t become awash with memes.Now you’ll see contact photos for message notifications and larger app icons to help you more easily ID what’s trying to grab your attention.

Along those lines, you can now get scheduled Notification summaries which use on-device intelligence to sort your notifications into a browsable collection so as to help you improve your focus and keep you from getting distracted by unnecessary pings. People notifications won’t be in summaries. However, now when you’re in Do Not Disturb or Focus mode , Message participants will be notified that you’re in DND mode and have a chance to contact you anyway .

The new Focus mode has a few defaults for Personal, Work, and Sleep . iOS 15 suggests which apps should be able to notify you in that mode and you can create a special customized Home Screen for it. You can also create your own custom focus modes .iOS 15 is really bringing machine intelligence to bear with Live Text. With this built-in feature you’ll be able to select text in images and copy and paste it into other apps, just like any other text.

The addition of Spain, Portugal, Italy, and Australia to Maps along with an interactv globe, elevation details, road labels, landmarks, a new nighttime mode, better driving information with road details like crosswalks, bike lanes, and overlapping interchanges added. You can even get AR walking directions in seven major metro areas.
