“I record music every day, and I love it -- as much or more than I have always done," Snaith says in a press release. "I feel very lucky -- the thrill has never, ever left me. … For the last few albums at least, there’s been a point about three-quarters of the way through where I work late into the night , but when I try and go to bed, ideas keep forcing me to get up and go back to the studio again.
With five years worth of material accruing across hard drives, the Ontario-born producer had more than 900 drafts to comb through while assembling. Snaith’s relentless work ethic is apparent in all of his projects, from the exacting details of his arrangements to the patience with which he releases albums. It sometimes leaves half-decade gaps between Caribou albums, but the result will inevitably be worth the wait.
