At eight people killed and 12 others are missing after extremely heavy rain triggered massive landslides in central Kerala state's Kottayam and Idukki districts.

At least eight people have died and a dozen are feared missing after a day of torrential rains in the southern Indian state of Kerala.Rescue operations were under way on Sunday after heavy rains lashed the state the day before, triggering flash floods and landslides, the Press Trust of India news agency reported.
