The fast-moving Dixie Fire, the largest of seven wildfires blazing in California, has prompted more evacuations amid hot, breezy conditions and low humidity, authorities said. The heat wave will bring temperatures that are at least 5 to 10 degrees higher than average to much of the country, according to estimates by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, which predicts a high probability of above-average temperatures for most of the U.S. over the next several days.
Add in climbing humidity, and many people will experience temperatures that will feel well over 100 during the heat wave, according Capitol Weather GangTemperatures in the mid-100s Fahrenheit arefor eastern Montana, the Upper Missouri Valley and South Dakota in the first half of the week. Heat indexes could be over 110 in urban areas such as St. Louis, with a slight cool down possible by the end of the week in some areas.
Extreme weather conditions such as prolonged heat domes are most often the result of random, short-term and natural weather patterns heightened by long-term, human-caused climate change.
Wait, isn't it supposed to get hot in the summer? What am I missing?
In other words, it’s summer.
Yep - no climate change here. Just a spell of hot weather.
Those windmill farms are killing the migratory birds, they're killing and changing the flight path of bugs, they're even changing the natural way the wind flows.
…And it’s just going to keep getting worse and worse every summer. Watch. 🔥🌎🔥
