Multiple wrongful convictions have been linked to Guevara and the city has faced lawsuits over his alleged conduct. Former Chicago police Detective Reynaldo Guevara leaves the Dirksen U.S. Courthouse in Chicago on June 8, 2018. On Monday a spokesperson for Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx’s office said prosecutors “were no longer able to proceed” on the Rodriguez matter after a ruling in a separate case by the same judge.Records show Rodriguez testified about his experience with Guevara and his partner, Det. Ernest Halvorsen, in a different post-conviction case before Atcherson last year.
“They grew up in a visiting room. Birthday parties and everything was in the visiting room.
