'I’m not for nation-building. I’m for putting the national security of the American people first. That’s nationalism. That’s the best tradition of the Republican Party. And it’s time we got back to it.”

Tuesday, during an appearance on FNC’s “The Ingraham Angle,” Sen. Josh Hawley called for his party to take a more populist approach, which he said would prevail in the November midterm election.“I would just say, Laura, that I think you’ve got it right.

“So listen, I’m not for nation-building,” Hawley added. “I’m for putting the national security of the American people first. That’s nationalism. That’s the best tradition of the Republican Party. And it’s time we got back to it.”

Short-sighted, dishonest, self-serving. Hawley on brand.

Going backwards does not work when everything else goes forward. It's called the flow of time and swimming against it is a guarantee that you will lose. Nationalism is not a smart move in an ever increasingly connected global society.

He is correct, it is long overdue that we stop allowing politicians to launder 40 billion dollar right in from of the taxpayers whom the money belongs to!

US schools are not racially integrated, despite decades of effort | OpinionAs an educational sociologist, I fear that the nation has effectively decided that it’s simply not worth continuing to pursue the goals of Brown. When my wife and I decided we both wanted children, researching and finding a school district we trusted to educate our future children became priority 1. Then we worked hard to afford a home in that district. A parent lives FOR their child, not just WITH them.
