: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s status as senior royals will end on March 31, setting in motion a new working model for the Sussexes, while their use of the word “Royal” in their branding is still under review.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will no longer have an office at Buckingham Palace from April 1, and will instead be represented through their new charity, which is yet to be launched. The couple, who have spent the past few weeks in Canada along with baby Archie, will no longer carry out duties on behalf of the Queen, and their roles will be reviewed in one years’ time.
They will, however, return to the U.K. for six engagements in February in March, including the Commonwealth Day service on March 9, while they will also attend the Invictus Games, which Harry created, in The Netherlands later this year. Harry will keep his army ranks—Major, Lieutenant Commander and Squadron Leader—but his honorary military titles will not be used.: There have been reports about the Queen apparently banning use of the word ‘Royal’, but this has not been confirmed. Buckingham Palace says the use of the word is being reviewed. The couple have applied to trademark Sussex Royal across hundreds of items, and will launch their charitable foundation in due course.
