SRuhle My city's contract for recycling pickup just increased from $10 to $70 per ton(?). Recycling will soon be something my progressive community no longer provides. As it is, we no longer recycle 3, 6, and un-numbered plastic, shiny cardboard and paper, etc.
Considering most ppl don’t seperate what can and can’t be recycled it’s no wonder why.
Don’t quiet understand that hundreds of billions of dollars can be allocated to the military every year, but no money for the recycling programs?

Total joke in separating your garbage. There's no huge profits nor incentives for businesses to bother doing it as it costs $$/energy to recycle. Exporting used to be popular but no country wants your garbage anymore.

Recycling has ALWAYS been a scam. The materials are often just shipped off to poorer countries to be 'recycled' and most ended up being burned, dumped in the ocean, or in their garbage dumps.
