A group of moderate Democrats trying to stop Sen. Sanders from winning their party’s presidential nomination is preparing to spend nearly $4M on ads against him in the final days before Super Tuesday, the group's executive director tells NBCNews.

NBC News Exit Poll: Black voters want a return to Obama era, whites want to go more liberal

Two out of three black voters in today’s South Carolina Democratic presidential primary want the next president to return to Barack Obama’s policies, early results from the NBC News Exit Poll show. The other black voters are split nearly evenly between wanting a more liberal or a more conservative path as compared to Obama’s policies.

For many white Democrats, however, a return to the Obama era isn’t enough: They want a president who will pursue more liberal policies. A plurality of white Democrats in South Carolina, 43 percent, favor a change to more liberal policies. Meanwhile, 34 percent want a return to Obama’s policies. Another 20 percent of white Democrats think the next president should change to more conservative policies.

NBC News has asked its readers since last summer to anonymously ‘confess’ what they really think about the presidential candidates, Democratic and Republican. On Election Confessions, people from across the United States have shared more than 60,000 short ideas about the candidates and the country. Many of those provided their locations .

They better spend it fast because there's 48 hours left

Republicans in South Carolina can vote Democratic in state's primaries which are open to both Republicans and Democrats, which means all registered South Carolina voters can participate in either party's primary regardless of political affiliation.

Yes, the majority of Dems would like to actually beat Trump, keep the House, and flip the Senate.

DOESN'T MATTER TRUMP WILL SQUASH ANY ONE OF THOSE DEMOCRAT COCKROACHES

Moderate Democrats would rather see Donald Trump win, that’s how deep their disdain is towards progressive members of the parties and voters. Hating our policies but desperately wanting/needing our vote is a recipe for failure.

Israel hard at work

If that many of them feel so strongly about this what they need to do is set a Party Platform that excludes Socialism completely! We have a group in our Country that represents Socialism, it's the Socialist Party and if that is what Bernie wants to run as that's where he belongs

Democrats facing same issue as the 2016 Republicans. Voters are tired of the ineffective, corrupt, permanent Washington government elite. Its why Trump won in 2016, and why Sanders could win this year.

We're just Democrats. Not 'moderate Democrats,' and we're not handing our party over to an old, angry Socialist to destroy. Clear?

Good!

Bravo! how can I help?

Good!

UniversalSp1r1t They need to be careful not to be overly “anti-bernie”. Better to be pro-Biden, or Warren/Amy in their home states.

Deemoney521 Democrats trying to rally Democrats against the 1 obstacle to Americans taking back the country from Trump & Republicans - Bernie Sanders He doesn't believe what Democrats believe. He has wasted decades romanticizing brutal socialist dictators & he would never pass 1 law

Any Dem but Bernie

Deemoney521 MEANWHILE.... BSnbc is trying to RIG Our Democratic Party for a NON-Democrat Bernie who is Trying to Steal the Party & Turn it into a SOCIALIST PARTY as a True Blue Democrat... NO !!! MSM STOP Rigging our Primary so you can Keep Your CASH COW TRUMP

If stopping Bernie is their goal then Trump isn’t the crisis

augustpalandri This is not what democracy looks like.

Imagine that. The Justice Democrat’s finance the division of the Democratic Party and now, moderate Democrats finance the uprooting of Bernie

RConfidencial

Democrats spending money to hurt their best presidential contender.

Surprising no one

The dems are falling apart 😂

Bien por informar, seguramente los 'demócratas moderados' no conocen la 'social-democracia', pero están a tiempo de aprender y comenzar.

Democrat Party has lost they're way and focus...swayed by back room big money politics as usual and corrupt special intrest media backed by billionaires continue to cultivate the same problems year after year promising change and giving nothing in return. No different than Trump.

GeminiWahhaj What “ moderate Democrats”? Who are they?

Every person or group has a right to spend money to support their candidate or cause.

Imagine how how much moderate good you could’ve done you’d spent $4 million dollars on moderate causes like: equal rights for white people that speak out against racism or raising expectations on corporations for customer service standards or filters on drinking fountains!

Unfettered capitalism trying to buy our elections. Again. Why are corporate democrats against the candidate who represents the moral center? NotMeUs

Entre más lo ataquen, más grande hacen al Senador Bernie Sanders

amyklobuchar PeteButtigieg TomSteyer JoeBiden ewarren ...and every ad we see like that will only make us donate to BernieSanders campaign! Also, you are all burning a valuable piece of democratic infrastructure (bridges) you will need in the near future.

GeminiWahhaj No surprise

How about Bloomberg gets out and funds Biden for the rest of the primary season.

Too late bitch!

I would happily take PeteButtigieg , them JoeBiden or ewarren for a close second.

Beating Bernie is the Democrat strategy. They'll never win against Trump without Bernie.

If only the GOP had had the good sense to do the same in 2016, they might have spared us the greatest threat to the United States since the Civil War. Instead, they installed a Filthy Grifter Pig Vandal in our White House.

Incoming rage tweets from MAGA/Berners in 3, 2, 1...

It's wonderful news. I support the effort of protecting the citizens from a derange old man at all costs.

What if he just ran as an Independent?

Ber-nie ber-nie!

$4M is almost nothing

Moderate? Or those not wanting a revolution that the rest of US want!

Sanders is a disaster in the general election. Cannot allow it to get to that point.

Bernie's fighting the Establishment and needs our help! Seems the entire country is against him. The Establishment knows no party affiliation.

Rofl. The Democrats are screwed

😡😤

Disgusting

Good! It became quite clear last night with Biden’s resounding victory that we’d like him and not Sanders.

Why not spend those type of resources on down ballot races? The Dems presidential civil war will make party unity damn near impossible in the fall.

cnn

HE IS A SPOILER

4M on 'against someone' campaigns? Dayum

LeslieMarshall THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!

So THIS is the unity moderate/establishment dems talk so much about?

Good. This is America not Russia. We are not socialists. berniesandersisanelectiondisrupter

Not gonna work, the train has left the station.

A lot of people in these states have already mailed in their ballot.

Big Tent Project has no room in it for liberals. I suppose the irony would be lost on them.

Democratic Rivals’ Goal: Slow Bernie Sanders on Super TuesdayDemocratic presidential candidates are bound by a common goal: to stop Bernie Sanders from amassing a majority of delegates on Super Tuesday Doesn't matter who's in the lead. Democrats are so obsessed with making each other lose they forget they have to win. They should be trying to make a deal to be his VP instead. Bernie supporters are people who realize that they do not possess the skills to make it in life. They realize that they are not self-sufficient and must resort to government dependence to survive. It is a pretty sad thing for these people.
