Anello, however, agreed to change his plea to guilty to put the matter to rest, attorney Michael Winkleman said.Chloe Wiegand, 18 months, from South Bend, Ind., is pictured in an undated family photo.
Chloe, who was traveling with her parents from their home in Indiana, was with her grandfather in the children's water park play area when her grandfather placed her on the wood railing, which was in front of a wall of glass windows, according to Winkleman.Winkleman said the grandfather put Chloe on the railing thinking she'd bang on the glass.
The family wants to raise awareness of the need for all common carriers to adhere to window fall prevention laws to prevent similar falls, Winkleman said.
This man will be mentally tortured for the rest of his life and I’m sure if he could bring his granddaughter back by sacrificing his life he would! It’s just a sad situation for the entire family.😢
This was negligence just like when someone forgets their child is left alone in a hot car. Nobody but the person who has responsibility for that child is at fault. But, admitting that then moving on is the best step to take.
So tragic. Very sad for everyone.
El sr. no esta tan viejo.. el tuvo la culpa .de esta pobrecita😥😥bebe tan hermosa se haya caído
This is so so so sad... 😞
This should never have come to this. It was a horrible accident, that’s all. That prosecutor should be disbarred.
'We need to make sure nothing like this will ever happen to another precious baby, or anyone else for that matter, ever again.' I want to ask Grandpa if he's aware of any kids who have fallen through windows like before or since his granddaughter. I'm guessing not.
The prosecutor in this case is flawed to bring this case. He has suffered enough. Punishment of any kind won’t change anything. Don’t bring the case. WhatAreYouTryingToProve?
Does grandpa have a mentle/ emotional disorder? Ie: dementia?. Why would normal person do such horrid act.💔😣
Prayers!
I have a plea deal for him. Tie him to the bow of the ship, drag him under the ship to the stern. Amid ship take a 15 minute underwater break. If he survives set him free.
RoyalCaribbean RoyalCaribPR is TOTALLY at fault for this tragedy. They and the crooked Puerto Rico police/DA threatened and bullied this poor innocent man to plead guilty or he'd never see his remaining grandkids again. BoycottPuertoRico BoycottRoyalCaribbean
This is tragic and family will never recover.. At the end of the day there should be no windows or exits for children to have access to. Cruise line is at fault.
Sad situation.. You would have to have prove that he intensely wanted her to fall out the window!!!
Wasn't it bad enough he dropped her. Then he had to plea deal? Seems pretty cruel.
This is ridiculous. If this accident had happened anywhere else but on the property of some rich person, there wouldn't have been any charges and the whole thing would've been ruled an accident. Sorry the poor guy has to not only live with his mistake of being old plus 'the law.'
With all the alleged videos that exist of the incident I doubt RC will even think giving them a penny.
No wonder the lawyer never give an interview here! Let him know pleading guilty IS ADMITING! In any courtroom! But he they got to fight for that Royal Caribbean money! shame
Yes lacomay said it first! Heres the document
Horrific beyond words 😢
Poor baby
