West Virginia state Sen. Mike Azinger had penned an op-ed in response to a local pride celebration, stating, 'Sexual deviancy is going mainstream.' State GOP chair Melody Potter shared the article on her Facebook page, adding that it was 'right on.'

Over the weekend, West Virginia state Sen. Mike Azinger, a Republican, penned an op-ed in response to a local pride celebration, stating,"Sexual deviancy is going mainstream." "The LGBQT movement is not about happiness and tolerance, but about indoctrination and a forced acceptance of a perverted and non-biblical view of sexuality," Azinger wrote. West Virginia GOP chair Melody Potter shared the article on her Facebook page, adding that it was"right on.

I am thrilled at the support I am getting for supportive Biblical principles. We love those even with whom we might not agree with," she said. Azinger did not return CNN's emails or phone calls for comment about his op-ed.In a statement later posted to Facebook, Parkersburg Pride President Cammy Murray, whose organization sponsored the event that drew Azinger's attention, said the state senator's op-ed was a"message of bigotry.

Why can’t she express her thoughts on it? Not very one buys into the LGB agenda being shoved down our throats. And the letters that keep getting added just makes the whole thing ridiculous.

The GOP PUT A SEXUAL DEVIANT IN THE WHITE HOUSE...but apparently CNN, MSNBC, and mainstream media is too busy cashing GOP Advertising checks from the GOP to care...

BULL SHIT!

Our current flow has gone from positive and negative to a series of and gates, or gates, switches, and relays. How does a writer address he/she/, him/her, his/hers? I mean, there are like 64 unique genders. It's insane, it's perverse, and it is an abomination!

Who’s gonna run against them?

Mental illness being celebrated,,,,,

Maybe they should pull their heads out of their asses and join the rest of America in tolerance and love for all mankind

Agree. Right On comment.

Her personal opinions are her own to hold, but our Republic isn’t a theocracy. She isn’t supposed to be using “biblical” standards to make policy decisions for all of us

Something similar could have also been penned by any rank-and-file Muslim; however, the odds of reporting such are relatively slim...

Obviously he glossed over the part that stipulates, '...Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.' But then again, the way they rewrite scripture to suit their own bias, prejudice, and desires, he might not have read it.

Ah sure the Christian Faith always say they are the morally just and cherish all their god’s children when in fact, a lot of them are quite hateful, bigoted and narrow minded. If god existed, you would never be welcome in his fold for discriminating against others.

It’s only his opinion...NOT fact.

I realize the “oh so woke” crowd will consider this hate speech, but if the gay community wants to be taken seriously, they need to reign in crap like this & other hedonistic displays synonymous with Pride festivals. Until then criticism is justified.

Make sure you remember his name. Then vote the bastard out !

What did you expect from the most backward state in the union.

LGBTQ acceptance among young people is on the decline: GLAAD surveyHmmmmmm........🤔 From my experience the young are the least tolerant generation. I see black people getting called coons and 'N*****' because they like Trump. I see people assume Mexicans are voting for the left because minorities don't get to have an opinion of their own. Young people ARE the most tolerant. My grandparents would shake there heads with disbelief with what is happening today. New sex terms daily. Gender fluidity. Non binary etc. they would have no clue
