Iowa Rep. Steve King, the nine-term Republican who last year questioned why white supremacy was deemed offensive in the U.S., lost a primary for his seat

WASHINGTON—Rep. Steve King , who was stripped of committee assignments last year for questioning what was wrong with white supremacy in the U.S., lost his bid for a 10th term after Republicans abandoned his campaign and endorsed a primary challenger.

Randy Feenstra, a state legislator, had 45.8% of the vote with 36 of 39 counties reporting, according to Iowa’s secretary of state. He was positioned to win a five-way primary, the Associated Press projected, and easily clear a 35% threshold that under state law allows...

Bye Felicia!

The person who defeated him is only slightly less wretched.

TheLizbeth10 A glimmer of hope!!

So somebody has to basically openly be a Nazi to be unwelcome in the GOP. How long until even that is no longer the case? Or are we there already w Trump? Because let’s be clear - King had Trump’s endorsement. Trump literally said that King’s views were correct. NINE terms.

Voters did their job and got rid of an asshole. Amazing how many people on the left are looking at this as a negative.

Too bad it wasn’t Pelosi. Her behavior is disgusting

Hahaha! Now he has plenty of time to support whiteoutwednesday

I don’t know why this is such a big deal. I’m pretty sure the guy that beat him is pretty racist too. There’s probably no way to win that seat without being racist because the constituents are overwhelming racist too. If they weren’t king wouldn’t have won the seat so many times.

Big deal. Mr. King walks away with a nice pension, benefits, perks and an existing network of contacts. He can do speaking engagements, write books, appear on talk shows, etc. He hasn't really lost a thing.

Wonder if TeamTrump knows about this? realDonaldTrump TalkTheTruth

THIS is how you create change!

So the openly racist white nationalist has been replaced by another conservative who will mostly avoid saying terrible offensive things while voting the exact same way as King on prettt much everything....yay, I guess?

Yay 💥 🎉 Identiratians of either party are cancer on the Republic.

And 10 times being a white supremacists shitbag was just one too many for them!

Thank you Iowa, one small step for man,one giant leap for mankind and democracy.

Knucklehead.

Let's talk about the truth. White Supremacist's should be declared terrorists.

Let this be a lesson to the rest of the GOP. Whatever Faustian bargain Trump made with Satan to steal office, it doesn't extend to you. Lick his jackboots clean, fluff his little 🍄, it won't save your career from the voters. Whatever club he's in, you're not a member.

King represented that corner of Iowa for 9 terms (18 years). Sorry, but I gotta see more if you're gonna try to tell me attitudes have changes in NW Iowa. the GOP winner appears to be a distinction w/o a difference.

Don't worry about Steve...he'll stay busy.

Buh-bye, Corn Hitler

White Supremacist's should be declared terrorists.

Unfortunately Feenstra isn’t much better.

Pandemic showed govt can move wealth quickly and its time it did so more often. Every dollar recirculates. Basic income relocation where bigotry threaten diverse communities debt forgiveness promotion of remote work work from home

More shall follow him by November 2020.

Good. Change needs to come

I’m disgusted that people voted for him for 9 terms!!

Good riddance Nazi!

Rep. Steve King's future on the line in Iowa GOP primary tonightRep. Steve King's future on the line in Iowa GOP primary tonight. The primary challenge to King is the fiercest since he was first elected to Congress in 2002. Please God hear our prayers and have SteveKingIA retire to his farm and tiny town of Kiran. Amen. I care that innocent people are killed by those charged with protecting them and the thousands that have died in this pandemic. BUT, there are even more serious problems that will unquestionably take far far more lives; global warming and the destruction of 'our' ecosystem!
