In St. Paul, clouds of smoke hung in the air as police armed with batons and wearing gas masks and body armor kept a watchful eye on protesters along one of the city’s main commercial corridors, where firefighters also sprayed water onto a series of small fires. At one point, officers stood in line in front of a Target, trying to keep out looters, who were also smashing windows of other businesses.

The Minneapolis unrest ravaged several blocks in the Longfellow neighborhood, with scattered rioting reaching for miles across the city. It was the second consecutive night of violent protests followingErika Atson, 20, was among several hundred people who gathered outside government offices in downtown Minneapolis, where organizers called for peaceful protest.

“It is time to rebuild. Rebuild the city, rebuild our justice system, and rebuild the relationship between law enforcement and those they’re charged to protect. George Floyd’s death should lead to justice and systemic change, not more death and destruction,” Walz said. Among the casualties of the overnight fires: a six-story building under construction that was to provide nearly 200 apartments of affordable housing.“We’re burning our own neighborhood,” said a distraught Deona Brown, 24, standing with a friend outside the precinct station, where a small group of protesters were shouting at a dozen or so stone-faced police officers in riot gear. “This is where we live, where we shop, and they destroyed it.

Mayor Jacob Frey appealed for calm. “Please, Minneapolis, we cannot let tragedy beget more tragedy,” he said on Twitter. Protests also spread to other U.S. cities. In New York City, protesters defied New York’s coronavirus prohibition on public gatherings Thursday, clashing with police, while demonstrators blocked traffic in downtown Denver. A day earlier, demonstrators had taken to the streets in Los Angeles and Memphis.

COVIDIOTS

You lied about my money 💵 Hurt my honey, You felt it was right when you ended my life. Now you got to get ready for the big pay back! The big pay back😡

So instead of any improvements in this neighborhood all the tax dollars will go to building a new station.

Just curious. How much of their own tax dollars have they burned so far?

And this is why nobody wants these type thugs in their neighborhoods....they destroy everything, they bring property values down, and are just trash

Protestors dont loot, destroy, and attack.... These are thugs that deserve the treatment they are protesting

Police officers need to understand the true nature of preserving the peace means preserving lives. Police officers need to abide by strict rules of engagement that ensures all people are treated with human dignity and have the right to live to see a proper judicial trial.

Why is this a surprise? Cops feel like they have the right to kill anyone they like, and they get shocked when they get clapped back? Lmao shut the f* up.

Runaway from these places, Useless for educated people. It is cultureless, moralless society.

George Soros:

👏👏👏👏

Welcome to Trump's Amerikkka.

Stop calling them protesters.

in general i’m a fan but this is some bullshit reporting . the violence was started by police - first thru murder then thru starting a riot

part of the problem in Minnesota and Minneapolis is that they are controlled by Democrats, the mayor in Minneapolis is Frey and his lack of leadership is endangering the public

Meanwhile... ladygaga You may want to have some sense of timing, you elitist spoiled brat.

Thanks Radical Liberals!

Amerikkka...

At some point police are going to have no choice but to shoot someone. How will the press react? Blame, shame?

“Protesters” 😂🖕

Just a minute...
