Rockets are launched from the Gaza Strip towards Israel, Monday, May. 10, 2021. Hamas militants fired dozens of rockets into Israel on Monday, including a barrage that set off air raid sirens as far away as Jerusalem, after hundreds of Palestinians were hurt in clashes with Israeli police at a flashpoint religious site in the contested holy city.
In recent weeks, tension has been soaring in Jerusalem, marked by clashes between Palestinian protesters and Israeli police in the walled Old City, located in east Jerusalem which Israel captured and annexed in the 1967 war. By Tuesday morning, Hamas and other Gaza militants had fired more than 200 rockets. That included a barrage of six rockets that targeted Jerusalem, some 100 kilometers away. It set off air raid sirens throughout Jerusalem, and explosions could be heard in what was believed to be the first time the city had been targeted since a 2014 war.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that “terrorist organizations in Gaza have crossed a red line and attacked us with missiles in the outskirts of Jerusalem.” Tensions at the site, known to Muslims as the Noble Sanctuary and to Jews as the Temple Mount, have triggered repeated bouts of violence in the past.
Palestinians and police reported renewed clashes late Monday. Israeli police also reported unrest in northern Israel, where Arab protesters burned tires and threw stones and fireworks at security forces. Police said 46 people were arrested.
Yh
THERE WILL NEVER BE PEACE THERE.
On the curse of God, Israel ...😔😡😡😡
Israel quer ocupar o território da Palestina e pra isso estão comtendo um genocídio, até aqui no Brasil nós sabemos disso. USA e Israel, TERRORISTAS!
JenniferJJacobs What the hell does soaring tensions mean? Why is that a trigger for air strikes?
This framing is an embarrassment. The press is complicit.
Horrific. It never ends.
Palestinian leadership refuse to negotiate for a realistic peace solution.
Correction, it was not dozens of rockets from Gaza. It was a matter a fact over 200 missiles now! Get your facts straight.
*hundreds of rockets at Israeli cities and civilian population
StandwithPalestine
Don't compare the number of rockets fired, compare the number of deaths and injured
Apart from violating international law, The Israeli forces are violating the UN's resolutions regarding the occupied Palestinian lands. Palestinian families are being forcibly expelled out of their homes in favor of Israeli settlers here and now in 2021. SaveSheikhJarrah
These 25 Gazans are 9 children, 2 women, a disabled person, and other citizens. What happened in Jerusalem and still happening is not 'tensions'. These are acts of Apartheid and persecution according to Human Rights Watch. Tell the COMPLETE truth SaveSheikhJarrah SavePalestine
Air strikes are not equal to rocket launches.
IndiaStandsWithIsrael fuckislamidogs
Never ending war with these two.
Psalm: 122_6 Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem 🙏
You still have the guts to refer to the victims as militants. This is rather funny
Dozens? 250
I'm confused by the positioning of the sentences. The implication is that Israel launched unprovoked attacks and Palestinian militants responded in kind. Who shot first matters a whole bunch.
🙏🙏🙏
IsraelisaterroristState
I really do not believe Palestinians sending rockets from Gaza bc Israel has a rockets shield over the whole Israel. I really believe Israelis doing it as pretext to killing Palestinians to create fear, it’s like prison riots control.
Down with the Israeli terrorists
what..? Palestinian militants.
Hahahahahahhaha
Hamas deliberately places their launch sites between civilians. Just like their overlords in Tehran love to see.
Apartheid is genocide
