After subtly building up to it for weeks, Penelope Garcia's Criminal Minds: Evolution romance has audiences rioting when it was revealed that she actually slept with Tyler Green. FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit has been busy tracking down Elias Voit and his network of UnSubs. It even put some of its own profilers at risk, which stays true to the show's DNA.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY Following Garcia and Tyler Green's kiss in "True Conviction," Paramount+ doubles down on their relationship when it is revealed in "What Doesn't Kill Us.". There's displeasure in the budding love line between Garcia and Green because it leaves Luke Alvez out.
Admittedly, Alvez and Garcia's pairing wasn't immediately well received. Given the show's poor handling of JJ and Reid's forced romance, there were concerns that dating within the BAU isn't the best decision. Still, Criminal Minds moved forward with it, teasing a blossoming relationship in the finale it ultimately went nowhere. Now, the Paramount+ revival is treating it as if it never happened with Garcia just casually partnering up with Green.
For now, it seems like Criminal Minds: Evolution is really leaning on this new romance. It's great that the show is focusing on Garcia considering how important she is to the team. But while her affair with Green appears to be nothing but a casual hookup, it may not exactly be just that. There could still be a final plot twist involving the vigilante-turned-informant of the BAU that could not only break Garcia's heart but also put her life in danger.
I think is nice, she's had terrible luck up to now.
