With coronavirus infections soaring to record-setting levels, an unprecedented number of virus-positive children are now entering hospitals.

As at least 1,000 hospitals face critical staffing shortages, President Joe Biden deployed the military medical teams to New York, New Jersey, Michigan, Rhode Island, New Mexico and Ohio.in Ohio at Dayton Children's Hospital.

"She's getting these fevers in the night, and they're not coming down," Kerby said."Is she going to be on a ventilator? All that is running through my head." Front-line workers at Dayton Children's said in recent weeks, the hospital has seen a significant increase in pediatric COVID-19 related hospitalizations, with the omicron variant rapidly spreading throughout their community.

COVID-19 is only further exacerbating previously existing health issues for many children, Patel explained, adding that many parents are shocked to see their children become so sick, and some families have even expressed remorse for not vaccinating their kids. Respiratory therapist Hillary O'Neil said she and her team are exhausted, as they try to care for the influx of patients amidst the hospital's latest staffing shortage.

I bet most of these children are to to the doc, for other conditions, originally. Besides one week, mostly all of them will be fine.

It's running It's course. Children are part of the process and this is an upper respiratory thing. That is harder on young children.

If you look at the kids who are hospitalized, many of them are hospitalized with COVID as opposed to because of COVID. If a kid goes in the hospital, they automatically get tested for COVID& they get counted as a COVID-hospitalized kid when, in fact, they went in for a broken leg

My 3 yr old nephew got it. He goes to school and every week we get emails saying kid after kid are testing positive, yet the administration says it is safe to put kids in schools? Thank goodness he is a fighter and recovering but this is a whole disastrous mess.

These kids were doing ok until they got those injections filled with who knows what. Shame on the parents for having the gov't inject these kids with an unknown substance.
