“I want to be clear: That is what is motivating to restricting abortion access. There are very few who sincerely believe that pregnant people should lose this right. What they do sincerely care about are their own political futures.”

. Not stopping to drink, eat, sit to rest her feet and knees, or even use the bathroom, Davis succeeded in delaying the vote.

Wendy Davis spoke to the Women’s Media Center about how the anti-abortion law affects women, especially women of color and low-income women, how women can fight for their right to choose, and how this right cannot be taken for granted. Anguish, fear, and anger kind of all mixed together.I expected it would pass because I know this legislature all too well, and unfortunately, we don’t have the number of Democrats needed to block things like this.

The Southern states are sort of the only game in town because [Republicans have] had control of how districts are drawn for such a long time now, the general elections really don’t matter in terms of threatening their viability and their ability to advance their political futures. Instead, they focus strictly on a very small minority of voters who occupy the far-right fringes of Republican primary voters.

Salesforce Offers To Relocate Employees From Texas Over Anti-Abortion LawSoftware company Salesforce has announced that if any of its 2,000 Dallas employees are concerned about the ability to access reproductive care in the wake of Texas’ aggressive anti-abortion law, the company will help relocate their families. What do you think? Seriously, won’t anyone think of the poor woman who modelled for that stock photo. I hope she was paid many many thousands of dollars for the amount of nonsense the Onion has put her through 🥺 I was not aware Salesforce had a mashed potato sculpture division, now I’m intrigued. You get to let Texas taxpayers raise the kid, then carry it thru prison years (yes, they did learn in the pre-abortion days that kids that grew up without affection tended to become criminals). Maybe your kid even shortens the life of some ReTrumps.

US grants license for temporary nuclear waste dump in TexasWASHINGTON (AP) — Federal officials have cleared the way for construction of a dump in West Texas that could hold spent nuclear fuel for up to 40 years. The Nuclear Regulatory Commission granted a license to Interim Storage Partners LLC to build and run a facility that could take up to 5,000 metric tons of spent nuclear fuel rods from power plants and 231 million tons of other radioactive waste. Dump it in Portland. There are no real people there. There is already a permanent site awaiting the go-ahead and has been for years. It has local support. I see that Ted Cruz finally got approved to build his new home.
