Jerome Adams expressed regret over his own dismissal of masks early on in the pandemic, but warns against repeating his mistake in the face of the highly transmissible variant.

Adams expressed regret that he and Dr. Anthony Fauci, the nation’s leading infectious disease expert, did not more strongly advocate. Now he worries that the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention is repeating the same mistake after rolling back its guidelines for indoor mask wearing.

“What @CDCgov said was based on the science & conditions at the time, and amounted to ‘you’re safe IF you vax it OR mask it,’” Adams tweeted Saturday. “Both the conditions & the science changed, but what people heard and held to was masks were no longer needed…” What Dr. Fauci and I said was based on the science & conditions at the time, and amounted to “save the medical masks for the medical workers.”— Jerome Adams

I think they literally planned another trip to Asia nope because they literally got NATO involved to start something else but most are definitely going with preserving life I pray I'm right

I do believe this same man called people stupid or something similar at the beginning of all this for trying to buy masks to protect themselves and their families.

DELTA VARIANT! Everyone get scared and start watching our station again!

Monday morning quarterbacking is easy. Tougher when you’re still in the game.

I agree with him. It is too early to stop wearing masks with all the variants everywhere.

Are we just gonna pretend that this guy didn't help Trump try to paper over the pandemic for a year?

Wow…. Now that he isn’t THE guy anymore, he’s gonna bitch now about what he DIDN’T do when he was THE guy

they got to be find something their right about to make up for the catastrophy under the trump administration

That because too many unvaccinated didn’t listen when states said that vaccinated people could remove masks, but that unvaccinated should continue to wear them. And it doesn’t help that too many GQP governors and legislators are anti-mask and anti-vax.

Minimal credibility given his propagation of lies in his previous job for the former president.

He should be telling all those Republican run states, who act as if Covid never existed. Period!

Oh, the irony.

I do agree.

Nothing to report on HUH?

The fear porn will never stop

CDC is ridiculously wrong! So much for getting good advice from the government. Protect yourself!

Remember? “Surgeon general reversed initial stance on masks. Adams did indeed discourage mask-wearing in a now-deleted tweet. “Masks do not work for the general public and preventing them from getting coronavirus,' he told Margaret Brennan on CBS News' 'Face the Nation.'

agavecorn That guy had his chance to be informative and missed his opportunity. Talk to the current Surgeon General!

That’s why he is Former, thank goodness.

Agree!
