Although expectations were low when he signed with the team, Apple ended up starting the entire season for the Bengals as they won their first AFC championship in 33 years before falling to the Los Angeles Rams in the Super Bowl.
He took plenty of heat after the Bengals’ Super Bowl loss, in which he gave up the game-winning touchdown to Rams receiver Cooper Kupp, largely because of his outspoken personality and trash-talk tweets throughout the team’s playoff run.
