Former Bush Admin Official: Every American Needs To Be Tested For Coronavirus Right Now

If all this sounds reasonable, what is stopping us from pursuing an aggressive testing strategy?

Testing capacity has recently increased significantly—total performed tests to date now exceed 2.4 million and are increasing by more than 150,000 each day. But our national goal must now be building the capability for several millions of tests each day. Ultimately, for “information smart” success, we will need between 1-2 billion tests to be performed in the next twelve months.

Execution of this new testing and surveillance system is within our ability. What is needed now is for President Trump and other government and private sector leaders to embrace this vision and put their weight behind it. President Trump recently used the Defense Production Act to increase production of ventilators. If necessary, he should further expand the DPA to enable the mass production of testing devices, kits and associated essential materials.

YES!!!!!!!!! Working in an office again and HOPE that others in the office are CV-19 free? Travel again into another state, let alone country and HOPE that Europe (for example), will not REQUIRE proof of American (or other nationality) CV-19 status? 100% of Anericans NEED Test!

Uhm. Sure. (Tell us something we don't know.) But serum blood tests are not up & ready for some reason. I'll go the day my local (or national) lab can do the test. And so will everyone else. And I don't care about medical privacy; I just want to know.

But the experts said testing every american would be impractical and not everyone needs to be tested.

An impossible expectation which would take away valuable resources and time from those actually infected.
