Longtime IT exec Teresa Carlson, who led Amazon Web Services’ worldwide public sector unit for a decade, is on the move again — this time to San Francisco

. It was her second stint at the Redmond, Washington, tech giant, where she worked as vice president of federal sales and operations from November 2001 to November 2010.

Carlson is best known for the decade she spent as the face of Amazon Web Services’ worldwide public sector unit. She ledwith the introduction of cloud infrastructure-as-a-service capabilities and helped make the company a premier name in the federal technology market with its 2013 win of the CIA’s $600 million, 10-year commercial cloud contract. She also worked to get Amazon on the Pentagon’s Joint Enterprise Defense Initiative cloud contract, better known as JEDI.
