Rebekah Jones, 31, has been charged with a third-degree felony on suspicion of sending an unauthorized message on the state’s emergency alert system and downloading confidential state information.She turned herself in on Sunday, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement said in a news release, and tested positive for COVID-19 while in custody, her attorney Stephen Dobson said, Florida Today reported.
Jones has said she was dismissed in May because she refused to manipulate data to downplay the severity of Florida’s coronavirus outbreak.
I wish she wasn’t in trouble for what she did. She was fired because she refused to underreport the covid numbers in FL. Then she published more accurate numbers than the state so people would know the truth. She didn’t want the governor to get away with lying.
