Ohio State's bringing in four new assistants. Here are five things to know about each one. • DC Jim Knowles: • CB coach Tim Walton: • S coach Perry Eliano: • OL coach Justin Frye:

It isn’t hard to see why Jim Knowles was Ryan Day’s choice to be Ohio State’s new defensive coordinator in 2022.

That said, there’s plenty more to know about Knowles, who’s had a unique path to becoming the most coveted defensive coordinator in this year’s hiring cycle.Oklahoma State’s defense progressively got better each year over the course of his four-year tenure in Stillwater. At Ohio State, he’ll be expected to deliver elite results on a more immediate basis, as Ryan Day will be expecting him to turn the Buckeyes’ defense into one of the nation’s best right away in 2022. But he’ll be inheriting more talent in Columbus than he’s ever had at his disposal in any of his previous coaching jobs.In more than 30 years of experience as a college coach, Knowles has done a little bit of everything.

The linebackers worked their asses off. They need better coaching and developed.

Would’ve been nice if we could’ve found a way to keep Combs in some capacity other than coaching. He’s a phenomenal person, and a great recruiter especially in the South.

Thanks. The 'outs' were all great and I hope they know how much they were appreciated by real fans.

Who is working with the LBs?

Al Washington ☹️

I’ll miss Coombs the person but not Coombs the DC. That was brutal.
