The gun Baldwin used was one of three that Gutierrez had set on a cart outside the building where a scene was being rehearsed, according to the court records. Halls grabbed the firearm from the cart and brought it inside to the actor, unaware that it was loaded with live rounds, a detective wrote in a search warrant application.
Mitchell, the script supervisor, told The Associated Press she was standing next to Hutchins when the cinematographer was hit. Baldwin, 63, who is known for his roles in “30 Rock” and “The Hunt for Red October” and his impression of former President Donald Trump on “Saturday Night Live,” has described the killing as a “tragic accident.” He was a producer of “Rust.”
Production on “Rust” was halted after the shooting. The movie is about a 13-year-old boy who is left to fend for himself and his younger brother following the death of their parents in 1880s Kansas, according to the Internet Movie Database website.
I would call this murder.
What is live ammunition doing on set? The person who handed him the gun should be charged with negligent homicide.
Alec Baldwin is as effective as the corona vaccine.
Alex committed the perfect murder.
It's a joke - right?!?
“Safety is a jealous, fickle mistress who shares herself with no man that takes his eyes off her.” ~dkgutierrez Stay safe everyone.
Yo seriously though, when in the hell do they ever have to yell 'Hot Gun!' I feel there should be no need for such distinction on set of a film... Or I need more clarification.. Like does cold gun just mean it doesn't even have blanks vs having blanks?
Rule 1 Assume every gun is loaded every time.
I’m not too familiar with movie sets, but why is a real loaded gun on the set at all?
If the multi-billion-dollar International film & TV industry, had commissioned electronics engineers to combine remote control tech with surround sound audio tech, and designed 'costume weapons' for use in the highly lucrative film business, as we all assumed they already had...
Spin it all you like, if Alec Baldwin knew anything about weapons, he would’ve cleared it when handed to him. The responsibility is all on him.
I'm still smiling! It's been so beneficiary trying someone new. The step take couldn't be much better. So glad I came across Geoffreypreud
Why on earth are they using real ammo in prop guns? Someone F’d up big time.
No one has explained why an actor was pointing a weapon at crew members…was there a scene in the script that called for Baldwin to shoot gun at the cinematographer and director? I think not. Why is no one talking about this.
And all it would have taken was 30 seconds to unload the 6 shot revolver and inspect the rounds. In reality they never should have handed a firearm to the incompetent 🧠 damaged AlecBaldwin Never trust a gun that has been loaded and handed to you by someone else.
Just proves Alec is not guilty of ' loaded'gun.
You can CGI a dinosaur or King Kong but need live rounds for realism? I don’t understand
At minimum this presents the case for many lawsuits
