A federal judge blocked South Carolina's so-called"heartbeat" abortion ban on Friday, a day after it was signed into law.
The South Carolina law -- the first such restriction passed in 2021 as anti-abortion advocates seek to limit access to the procedure -- would block the procedure at the detection of a fetal heartbeat, which can occur as early as six weeks into a pregnancy and before many people know they are pregnant. US District Judge Mary Geiger Lewis issued a temporary restraining order on the law until March 5.

A women 6 months pregnant was on her way to get an abortion and caused an accident severly injuring another pregnant woman who was on her way to the hospital. As a result the injured woman lost her 24 week old baby. Should the woman be charged with involuntary manslaughter?
