With today’s technology it doesn’t matter who you are, where you live someone can locate you. This was a lawyer who might have hanged out in the same Restaurant/bar with the judge and even trails you. Condolences to the family!

I totally agree. I work with Judge's who often make UNFAVORABLE Decision. Most often they will become MARK Target by an UNSTABLE Individual. Most Judge's phone numbers are Never listed in the Agency directory, for Security Reasons.
The US needs enhanced privacy laws. Period. It's too easy for data about people to be found, combined, and shared without appropriate permissions and controls. Here's a short (incomplete list) of who sells your data:
