'Even well-intentioned laws must pass constitutional muster,' one judge wrote.

He also did not immediately say if the state would seek a delay of the ruling to prevent an immediate buying spree if the lower court lifts its stay.

The ruling has national implications because other states have similar restrictions, though it immediately applies only to Western states under the appeals court's jurisdiction.

Nicholas cruz shot almost 40 people and killed 17 while using 10 round magazines because they were easier to hide in his duffle bag. Don't come at me with 'ban all guns!'. The fight against Police Brutality has proved why we need guns; to protect ourselves against malicious cops

This is a bad ruling. Judge Lee this is not the wild Wild West anymore cowboy. Tbe right to bare arms is vague and attached to a militia. A well functioning society must be able to regulate the size, capacity, and use of “arms” in the “the right to bare arms”.

Where does it state the right to high powered, high capacity magazine?

Is Connecticut next? Asking for a friend.

Yup, the Constitution mentions that high-capacity magazines are a 'Right'. Sez there in the fine print.🙄

Thanks for these guns I’m sure the psychopaths are looking forward to using them after the pandemic is over in large crowds are able to gather again. G-d forbid.

I’d like the courts reasoning how this limits ownership of firearms. One can own the same firearm, it’s just the magazine.

I guess they gotta start somewhere.

Laws don't care about you feelings, which that's the way it should be

This is the kind of ruling that will get us more Mass Shootings. Why would anyone need more than a capacity of 10 rounds. This is one of those Judges approved by Mitch McConnell and the Federalist Society. These people has lost and removed all sense of life value from rulings.

That's OVER 500 Americans die every month ! !

Thankful for the second amendment. In the past months we have seen the real reason for it. It's not to stop the random hold up at Walmart. Instead it's to stop the overreach of tyranny by our government, and uprisings by radical elements in our society.

OK California. A fully auto AK 47 with taped back to back 30 round clips for everyone. Abrams tank anyone. The court says I have the right to defend myself.

So the court favours mass shootings? Because that's what those damn weapons are used for.

Federal court got it 100% correct here. If these people were truly focused on stopping mass murders, they would focus on the human beings who do these things. Not the inanimate objects.

I ain’t no mind reader but I doubt GW and friends could ever imagine the AR-15. But I also doubt slave owners, slave traders, and slave rapist cared much.

When the Constitution was written, musket were the firearms. Not high capacity magazines.

To the feds being fielded by the 'about to be' citizen Trump, watch out !!!

American obsession with guns is something that is uniquely american & its not at all pretty. Plus, as we can see by the trump troops, noone is using said guns against tyranny so why again do you have such prolific gun circulation in america? Cause 300 years ago some men decided.

Hell yes. Going to go by my high capacity now.

Awesome. Liberal tears are so fcccking delicious.

This is completely against common sense.
