Federal Reserve Governor Michelle Bowman said Saturday she supports the central bank's recent big rate increases and believes they should continue.

Fed Governor Michelle Bowman said she supports the central bank's recent 0.75 percentage point rate increases and believes they should continue until inflation is subdued.

Markets are anticipating a third straight big increase when the central bank meets again in September. In addition to the hikes, the rate-setting Federal Open Market Committee indicated that "ongoing increases ... will be appropriate," a view Bowman said she endorses.
