The more companies sign up to the service, the more convenient and attractive it will be to use, said Tom Szaky, chief executive and founder of Trenton, N.J.-based TerraCycle. In the U.K., for example, McDonald’s customers can drop off their reusable coffee cups at Loop bins in participating Tesco stores, and their used Tesco containers at the McDonald’s outlets involved.
Companies may be willing to take that leap, but sustainability advisers say the friction remaining in the system, particularly with container deposits, may deter some customers from committing to it. A stainless steel tub of Häagen-Dazs ice cream on Loop’s e-commerce site, for instance, costs $6.49, but the deposit costs another $5.
Reusable boxes and cups will definitely hit their business hard. Though Corona's impact will ease off with time but ppl will get more cautious. Reusable products, especially in case of food will not be accepted.
Oh boy! So we will just have trash that breaks down even slower laying all over the side of the road. Seriously too many people don’t seem to be able to find a trash can and now you want them to be smart enough to deposit in a special bin.
Ewwwwww!
They really expect Americans to do this? These are the folks who will not only die for their 'FREEDOM,' they will gladly kill you, your parents, & your kids rather than wear a mask. If people continue to buy BK, these ugly containers will litter the landscape & fill city dumps.
Maybe they should start focusing on finding employees to keep their stores open first.
Maybe not make them shit brown?
This seems like a potentially good idea.. though more information would be needed for how the containers would affect the environment for those who won’t return and instead will trash it
People still eat there?
Or just serve it on a plate?
About time for all Fast Fooders....
Maybe they should focus on the food...
Sounds innovative
Ewwww…
This is cool. Would you be paying the deposit with your meal though?
Not a good idea. Next we'll be all wearing them.

This has foodborne illness written all over it. Why not just compost them?
At least they’re testing something🤠
Using a biodegradable wrapping seems a better idea. What? People r supposed to wash out the burger box and bring it back. Yuck
Solid🤎
If it works out like reusable shopping bags did for me I will end up with fifty at home and zero to return anytime I stop at a BK or M’Ds.
mmmm, Burger King.....
No thanks. Don't know what someone is bringing into the restaurant in their used boxes/cups
Please use AOC as the test person for this brainstorm on reusing fast food drink cups and burger wrappers.
