Online sports betting in Kentucky comes into effect on Thursday, Sept. 28 at 6 a.m. ET. As of Monday, Aug. 28, Kentuckians can pre-register, putting them in a position to wager right out of the gate. Users can create accounts and get familiar with the online sportsbook layout, yet they cannot deposit funds into those new accounts until Sept. 7, which coincides with the launch of retail sports betting.
The Kentucky legislation on sports betting proposes the establishment of nine retail sportsbooks, aligning with the number of horse racing tracks in the state. Commencing Sep. 7, 2023, these venues will be authorized to provide in-person betting services. Additionally, every racetrack can collaborate with three mobile sports betting providers.
